Flourish at Schoolhouse Craft

Schoolhouse Craft banner Have you heard about Schoolhouse Craft? It's a three-day indie business conference in Seattle happening September 21–23. The intrepid organizers of the conference, Kristen Rask and Andrea Porter, have pulled together quite the line-up of speakers and teachers covering a full range of topics for indie business owners (if I do say so myself).

But not only am I leading a class called Giving Back: Rejuvenating Creativity on Saturday, I'll be giving the keynote Friday morning to kick off the conference and set the tone for an awesome three days of learning, inspiration, and networking.

My keynote topic is Flourish. I'll be talking about what it means to be successful as a creative person, how we can balance the not-so-fun parts of business with the truly creative parts, and how we can break out of our self-isolating shells and take part in the community around us. And of course, I'll talk a little bit about what it means to have an Ambidextrous Brain and how we can break the common notion that creatives can't do analytical or logical things.
